Oil on Copper Composite Panel 40” round. Framed (46.75”x46.75x2.25”)
This painting depicts the Old Norse mythological figure of the Valkyrie (Valkyrja) direct translation: chooser of the slain. A mythical warrior maiden (often depicted in flight) who would guide fallen heroes to Odin’s hall: Valhalla. In my picture she is depicted in a Fjord, holding a Norse helmet and drinking horn, symbols of ritual practice to honor Odin and represent warrior strength and sacrifice.
